The Beliefs of the Eloura World
I think there are certain things we know deep down before we ever have the words for them.
A room can change the way you feel.
A song can bring back a whole version of you.
Flowers on the kitchen table can make an ordinary day feel a little softer.
Getting dressed up for no real reason can somehow remind you who you are.
That is the heart of Eloura.
It is not just about photography, or pretty things, or making life look perfect.
It is about paying attention.
To beauty, ourselves, to the women around us.
To the little things that make a life feel like ours.
These are some of the things I believe, and the things I want Eloura to always come back to.
Beauty matters.
I know there are a million more practical things in life than beauty.
There are bills to pay, dishes in the sink, kids who need something, laundry waiting, work to do, and days where we are just trying to get through it.
But I still believe beauty matters.
I think a beautiful place can pull you out of your own head for a minute.
I think flowers can make a room feel alive.
I think art can make you feel something you didn’t even know you needed to feel.
I think putting on a dress you love can change the way you carry yourself.
Beauty does not fix everything...
But sometimes it reminds us that life is more than just surviving the day.
And I think we need that.
Your life can be art.
I used to think of an artist as someone who painted, or sang, or made something obvious with their hands.
Now I think some people are artists in the way they live.
The way they decorate their home.
The way they dress.
The way they make dinner.
The way they arrange flowers.
The way they photograph their children.
The way they tell stories.
The way they create a business, throw a dinner party, or make someone feel welcome.
I do not think you have to earn the title of artist.
I think creativity shows up in so many quiet ways.
Sometimes your life is the canvas.
People are allowed to change.
This one means a lot to me.
We are allowed to become different women.
We are allowed to outgrow things.
We are allowed to change our minds.
We are allowed to wake up one day and realize that something we once wanted does not fit us anymore.
That does not mean the old version of us was wrong.
She was doing the best she could with what she knew.
She got us here.
But we do not owe the rest of our lives to the person we used to be.
Read that again... We do not owe the rest of our lives to the person we used to be.
I think womanhood is a series of seasons.
And each one deserves to be lived fully.
You do not need a big reason to be photographed.
We photograph weddings.
Babies.
Pregnancies.
Graduations.
Birthdays.
All of these beautiful milestones... and that's beautiful..
But sometimes I think we forget that a woman herself is worth remembering.
You do not have to lose the weight first.
You do not have to be married.
You do not have to have some huge accomplishment.
You do not need permission to be seen.
Sometimes the reason is simply:
This is who I am right now.
This is the woman I became.
This is the life I am building.
This season mattered to me.
That is enough.
Ordinary life deserves a little romance.
I love the idea of making life feel special before there is a reason for it to be special.
Buying the flowers.
Lighting the candle.
Putting music on while you cook.
Wearing the perfume.
Taking yourself somewhere pretty.
Getting dressed for dinner even if it is not a fancy dinner.
Sitting outside a little longer because the evening feels good.
Using the good dishes on a Tuesday.
I do not think life needs to be perfect or aesthetic all the time.
That would be exhausting.
I just think we deserve to notice it while it is happening.
Women need other women.
I want Eloura to be a place where women are interested in each other, not constantly measuring themselves against each other.
I want to know what you are building.
What you love.
What you are scared of.
Why you started your business.
What you dream about.
What your life looks like when nobody is watching.
I think there is something so powerful about women actually seeing one another.
Just being curious.
Supporting each other.
Learning from each other.
Making room for each other.
That is the kind of community I want around me.
Curiosity is important.
I think we lose a little bit of ourselves when life becomes too repetitive.
Wake up, work, clean, cook, scroll, sleep, repeat...
I want to stay curious.
Go to the museum.
Take the class.
Try the restaurant.
Read about something strange.
Drive somewhere you have never been.
Talk to the florist.
Learn about perfume.
Pick up a camera.
Paint badly.
Wear something you normally would not wear.
Not everything has to turn into a business or a skill.
Sometimes we are allowed to do things just because something inside us said, that looks interesting.
I think following those little sparks is how we find ourselves again.
Your real life is worth loving.
Eloura is not about creating a life that looks beautiful to everyone else.
I do not want that.
I want a life that feels good when nobody is looking.
A home that feels like me.
People I can breathe around.
Work that means something.
Places that make me feel awake.
Beautiful things I actually enjoy.
Slow mornings when I can get them.
Interesting conversations.
Art.
Music.
Good food.
Flowers.
Laughter.
A life that does not need to be impressive to be meaningful.
There is a difference between creating a beautiful life and performing one.
I want the first one.
We are always becoming.
I do not think there is one final version of us waiting at the finish line.
I used to think maybe one day I would finally have it all figured out.
Now I am not sure that is even the goal.
I think there will always be something new to learn.
Something new to love.
A new place.
A new interest.
A new friendship.
A new version of ourselves.
And maybe that is what makes life beautiful.
We are never completely finished.
There is always more of us waiting to be lived.
That is what I want Eloura to feel like.
A place where women can notice beauty again.
Where we can be curious.
Where we can make things.
Where we can change.
Where we can be seen.
Where we can create lives that feel like our own.
Not perfect lives.
Not impressive lives.
Just honest, beautiful, meaningful ones.
Create a life that reflects you.
